When an incredibly talented musician reached out to me a few weeks ago wanting to get together with me to shoot some cover work for his upcoming album, needless to say I felt honoured. What's even better about it is this awesome musician just happens to be one of my really good friends, Taylor Kirkwood
Taylor and I went to high school together, and I can still hear the lyrics he would rhyme together in the hallways at our beloved school, PCVS. From the very first day I met him, I always gravitated towards him when he has his guitar in hand. He always had it, never letting the chance to play classic Canadian folk songs around a fire pass him by. And for this, I knew myself and all of our friends, would be forever grateful. After high school, Taylor and I parted ways out into the world, keen to make our mark outside the boundaries of our hometown. Other than meeting a couple times a year for annual get togethers with friends, it had been to long since I had seen him and his guitar.
We got together, chatted about his upcoming album and how excited we were to work together. I was lucky enough to hear him perform some tracks from the new album that same night, and even luckier enough to hear some of his classics.
